Ron Plante Jr. is the author of the Duke Dempsey Mysteries. He lives in beautiful Charleston, SC with his family. Ron was an active duty member of the United States Coast Guard for almost 10 years before transitioning over to a civilian role as a Search and Rescue Coordinator. He has been doing Search and Rescue for the Coast Guard as a civilian for the past 10 years and continues to perform that role today.
When not conducting Maritime Search and Rescue, Ron loves to write and read historical mysteries. Some of his favorite authors are Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, and Dashiell Hammett. His Duke Dempsey series was inspired by some of the works of those authors.
Ron and his family love living in the coastal city of Charleston, SC. They live near the beach and can be found there on most weekends. The backdrop for his Duke Dempsey series is late 1930’s Charleston and he enjoys highlighting its beauty in his stories.
